Douglas Manor Association was formed originally in 1906. The membership, which encompasses over 600 homes, actually owns and maintains the entire waterfront, including at its central axis, a fully operational dock, pier and beach on one side, and Memorial Field Park on the other. Homeowners are required to honor Deed Restrictions and New York City Landmark guidelines in order to maintain the Manor's original historical character, lush natural landscaping, and comfortably relaxed lifestyle that the founders cherished. Indeed, the three key mantras of the DMA are still to 1) care for the common property, 2) ensure adherence to deed restrictions, and 3) sustain and improve the quality of life.
